Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles has seen an increase in the level of its sales. The recovery in demand has been after the second wave of COVID-19. Now, with the economy getting better, the company has reported sales of 6,070 units of vehicles in October 2021. The CEO & MD of VECV, Vinod Aggarwal, has said that the company is trying to reach the peak level of sales, which was made in 2018 and 2019.
The company has registered a year-on-year growth of 73% in demand for its commercial vehicles. Last year, in the month of October, the demand for the vehicles were 3,506 units of vehicles only.
The company has already crossed the pre-pandemic levels of sales which were 3,784 units of vehicles in October 2019.
As per Vinod Aggarwal, revival in the construction industry and school segment is playing a major role in the increase in sales of the company. He said, “The commercial vehicle segment is a cyclical one. It was seeing a slump, especially with the pandemic. However, right now is the time for uptick and recovery. This should continue for quite some time.”
This comes along with the new launch of the company in the Coach and Sleeper Bus range. “A year ago, we announced the formation of a bus division within VECV, with the clear aim to shape the developments in the Indian bus industry. Today I am proud to launch a new range that synergises the Eicher brand’s extensive local presence and expertise in value engineering with Volvo Buses India’s competence in the premium bus segment. This product truly combines the ‘best-of-both-worlds,” Aggarwal said.
