VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) has recorded a decline in sales by 19.1% for the month of December 2019. The Volvo and Eicher Motors joint venture has reported a total sale of 5,042 units in the month under consideration.
In a statement, the company stated that this decline comes in comparison to the December 2018 sales, wherein they recorded a sale of 6,236 units.
Particularly Eicher branded trucks and buses have sold a total of 4,910 units in December 2019, which is in contrast to 6,113 units being sold in December the previous year. This has brought on a decline of 19.7% in sales.
Eicher trucks and buses did not perform well in the domestic commercial vehicle market as well, recording a sale of 4,410 units in December 2019. In December 2018, the company sold a total of 5,112 units, leading to a drop of 13.7% in sales in 2019.
In the International and export market, Eicher trucks and buses have recorded sales of 500 units in December 2019 as compared to 1001 units in December 2018, representing a decline of 50 per cent.
Sales of Volvo trucks, however, reported a growth of 7.3 per cent at 132 units in December 2019, as compared to 123 units in the same month previous year.
