Tata Motors has reported that it has increased the sales of its vehicles by 26% in the domestic market. The company has sold a total of 55,988 units of vehicles this year. Whereas in the September of the last year, the company had sold a total of 44,410 units of vehicles.
In the commercial vehicles segment, the company has made sales of 30,258 vehicles in the domestic market in September. This way, the company has recorded a 30% growth in the sales of vehicles in the commercial vehicle space. The company sold a total of 23,211 units of the vehicle in the month of September of 2020.
The export market for the company has also recorded growth. In this September, the company had exported a total of 3000 units of vehicles. Whereas in the same month last year, the exports of the vehicles were 1655 units of vehicles only. The reason for this growth in the sales of the vehicle is given to post-COVID recovery in the market.
The executive director of Tata Motors, Girish Wagh, said, “Post the 2nd Covid wave, markets are witnessing gradual demand recovery across most segments led by M&HCVs with improving fleet utilization levels and a higher number of road construction projects awarded and improving cement consumption.” He further said, “International business continued the recovery momentum and grew by ~28% over the previous quarter and 155% over the same quarter last year (Q1 FY21). Semiconductor shortage continues to impact the auto industry globally. The impact of supply shortage due to restrictions in East Asia continued in September, leading to moderation of production and offtake volumes. The situation is fluid and we continue to work to mitigate the impact on our customer orders through an agile, multi-pronged approach.”
In the segment of the passenger vehicle, the company has record the growth of 21% in sales compared to last year. Last year, during the month of September, the sales of the company were 21,199 units of vehicles. Whereas in this year, the company has recorded the sales figure of 25,730 units of passenger vehicles in the month of September.
