SML Isuzu has announced that it will get on the BS-VI bandwagon and start manufacturing BS-VI compliant diesel trucks and buses. In a statement released by the company, they said that the BS-VI trucks and buses that will be manufactured will come with a BS-VI technology that will be incubated in-house. They will be taking the aid of Fuel Injection Equipment and Calibrations Support, EGT and other suppliers, the company added.
The company further said, “The new BS-VI norms will upgrade our entire range of trucks (LCVs & MCVs 5 to 13 Ton GVW) and buses (from 12 to 60 seats, for School, Staff, Tourist and Luxury Travel applications) along with the wide range of special application vehicles.”. The company seems on track with the automotive industry moving towards adopting BS-VI emission standards from April 1, 2020.
The company further mentioned that it has received BS-VI compliance certification from iCAT its entire range of SML lsuzu’s Diesel Trucks and Buses.
As for its sales performance, SML Isuzu witnessed a decline of 33% in its December 2019 sales at 549 units, as compared to 817 units being sold in 2018 in the month under review.
