CSC E-Governance India Ltd has now been authorized to issue the no-objection certificate for the sale of used vehicles. With this, the government is aiming to digitize the process of issuing NOC. This will fasten the process of getting vehicle NOC. The service of vehicle NOC will soon be available across the Digital Seva Portal set up in different parts of the country.
For this, CSC has tied up with National Crime Record Bureau to request the State Governments to issue NOC through Digital Seva Portal. The government has authorized to issue the no-objection certificate for the sale of the used vehicles. This will help the citizens to get their vehicle NOC in a swift and fast manner. On the inauguration of this service, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla said, “This service will help citizens to access the NOC from the nearest CSC. The NCRB has requested the state governments to integrate CCTNS (Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems) services with the Digital Seva Portal so that these can be delivered and made accessible to citizens through the network of CSC.”
CSC is the digital booth of the Government of India. The CSCs are Common Service Centres that have been launched under the program of Digital India. Through this, various welfare schemes can be accessed in remote parts of the country. There are over 4 lakh CSC across India. The citizens can visit their nearest CSC for various social schemes such as getting ration card services, birth and death application and others.
A vehicle NOC is a compulsory document required for purchasing a second-hand vehicle. These are required by the RTO for the sale of the used vehicle. With a no-objection certificate, the RTO issues the certificate that it has no problem in transferring the ownership of the vehicles.
Now the citizens can visit their nearest CSC center and download their NOC very easily. This can then be produced before RTO for the sale of the used vehicle.
The Managing Director of CSC SPV, Dr. Dinesh Tyagi, regarding this said, “There is a growing market for pre-owned vehicles for personal and commercial use. Mobility is an important part of commercial and entrepreneurial activities. Our extensive network of CSCs can capitalize on this demand and provide NOCs to vehicle owners. Citizens, particularly in rural areas, can benefit from this partnership as they don’t have to travel long distances to visit NCRB offices and can get NOC from their nearest CSC.”
