The sales figures for September 2020 are in, and Hinduja flagship firm Ashok Leyland recorded a decline of 5% in its total commercial vehicle sales. The company on Thursday in a regulatory filing reported a sale of 8,344 units in the month under review.

The 5% decline in sales figures comes in light of the 8,780 units that the company had sold in the same month the previous year. Talking about the company’s performance in the domestic market, a slight decline was seen with 7,847 units being sold in September 2020, as compared to 7,851 units that were sold in the same month in 2019.
According to the regulatory filing, the company recorded a 23% decline in total Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCV) sales at 3,642 units, in contrast to 4,744 units that were sold in September 2019.
A positive note for the company for September 2020, however, was its Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) sales, which increased by 17% with 4,702 units sold, as compared to 4,036 units that were sold in the same month last year.
