Ashok Leyland, the flagship company of Hinduja Group, had a happy news to report for the month of October this year. In the midst of the pandemic, the company was able to achieve a growth in truck sales by 13% for October 2020, with a sale of 3,762 units. This rise comes in comparison to the 3,340 units that were sold in the month under review in 2019.
In the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle (M&HCV) segment, 3,881 units were sold in October 2020, which led to a decline of 15% as compared to October 2019, when the segment saw a sale of 4,570 units. Bus sales for the company saw a decline of 90% at 119 units, in comparison to 1,230 units sold in October the previous year.
Good tidings were witnessed for the Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) segment, as the sales increased by a good 11%. The month of October this year saw a sale of 5,004 units of LCVs, in contrast to 4,509 units that were sold last year in October. However, as per the company’s regulatory filing, the total vehicle sales dropped by 2% with a sale of 8,885 units in October 2020, as compared to 9,079 units that were sold in October 2019.
