Ashok Leyland, the flagship firm of the Hinduja Group, reported a drop in commercial vehicle sales by 40% for the month of January 2020, with a sale of 11,850 units. As per the company’s regulatory filing, the drop comes in contrast of the 19,741 units that were sold last year in January.
In the domestic market, the company recorded a sale of 10,850 units, witnessing a decline of 41% in comparison to 18,533 units that were sold in January the previous year.
In the medium and heavy commercial vehicle segment, the company recorded a sales decline by 49% at 6,949 units being sold. This comes in comparison to 13,663 units that were sold in the same month the previous year.
Talking about the light commercial vehicle segment, the company sales dropped by 20% at 3,901 units being sold, in contrast to 4,870 units that were sold in January the previous year.
