Ashok Leyland, a flagship firm by Hinduja Group, reported a decline in total vehicle sales by 31% at 6,325 units for the month of August. The decline comes in contrast to the 9,230 units the company had sold in August the previous year, Ashok Leyland said in a regulatory filing on Tuesday.

As per the company, in the domestic market the company was able to log in a sale of 5,824 units for August, witnessing a drop in sales by 30% as compared to the 8,295 units that were sold in the month under review in 2019.
The Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) segment saw a sale of 3,602 units in August 2020, as opposed to 3,711 units that were sold in August 2019, culminating to a decline of 3%. A 52% decline was witnessed in the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle (M&HCV) segment, with domestic sales amounting to 2,222 units in August this year, in contrast to 4,584 units that were sold in August in the year-ago period.
