One of the biggest commercial vehicle manufacturers in India, Ashok Leyland, announced on Tuesday its sales figures for April 2020, stating that the company has recorded zero sales for the month in review. Another CV manufacturing giant Mahindra and Mahindra had reported no sales for April 2020 recently. In fact, almost all automakers in the country have had zero domestic sales in the past month, with only a few reporting numbers of exports. Ashok Leyland had recorded a sale of 13,626 units in the domestic as well as export market in April 2019.

The company in a statement, however, said that it stands by the government’s bid to contain the virus, and will abide by all guidelines and advisories issued by the Centre. Ashok Leyland is set to resume operations in its factories and facilities soon after getting the relevant permissions from authorities.
