The sale of the commercial vehicles of Ashok Leyland in the month of September has increased. The company has reported the growth of 14% of sales from the last year. The total number of vehicles sold by the company this month is 9,533 units. Whereas in the last year the sales in the month of September were 8,332 units. The company has also increased its sale from the month of August, wherein it sold 9360 units of vehicles.
The sale of medium and heavy commercial vehicles has been the most for the company. In this segment, the company recorded the growth of 39% by registering the sales of 5,060 units of vehicles. The sales of light commercial vehicles, on the other hand, have dropped. Compared to last year, the company in this year has sold 4,473 units only in September.
The company has performed well overall in the domestic market. The total number of vehicles sold within the country was 8,787 units. This is the increase of 12% from last year when the sales were 7835 units in the domestic market last year.
The new launch of the AVTR 4825 tipper truck has been hence of significance with the increase in sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles. The performance of the company also shows that it is recovering from the amount of loss the company has faced in the previous year. In the first quarter of the last financial year, the company reported the net loss of Rs. 409.08 crore rupees. In the first quarter of the current financial year, the amount of loss got reduced to Rs. 273.86 crore. Now, the company is in the path of recovery. With the steady growth in sales of vehicles in August and September, the company is expected to further improve its performance this year.
